Nestled in the picturesque foothills of Evergreen, Colorado, Evergreen Country Day School offers a unique and inspiring setting for education. Idyllic Location

We are a mountain school founded in 1971, located in Denver’s backyard; just 15 minutes from Downtown Evergreen and 10 minutes from C-470.

Early Childhood to Middle School

We are an independent co-ed school that serves 200 students ages 18 months through 8th grade.

Our student to teacher ratio is 6 to 1.

We are members of the National Association of Independent Schools, Association of Colorado Independent Schools, and the National Business Officers Assocation.

Over 25% of our families receive a financial aid award and utilize flexible tuition.

Our average student outperforms the average public and private student around the country.

History of ECDS

Founded in 1971 by Larrie and Bjorg Wanberg as Evergreen Creative Preschool, Evergreen Country Day celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2021.

The school began by utilizing various rented church spaces for nearly twenty years. In the early 1990s, the school was renamed Evergreen Mountain School and relocated to leased space in the Bergen Park Shopping Center. It remained there until Evergreen Country Day School’s current campus was purchased and constructed in 2005.

In 2003 four families, known as our Founding Families, were determined to find a permanent home for the school and to ensure its long-term viability. As a result, Evergreen Mountain School was reincorporated as Evergreen Country Day School and the modern era of our learning community began.

Over the last twenty years, Evergreen Country Day has purchased and constructed the main campus, earned accreditation through the Association of Colorado Independent schools, added a vibrant middle school, increased enrollment, and implemented signature academic programs such as: computer science, Tinker Time, Journeys, and STEAM School.
